There are several techniques to print logos on water bottles, which may depend on your preferences, bottle material, and bottle type.

Screen printing

Screen printing is a traditional technique to apply logos to water bottles. Screen print is considered one of the most economical methods to apply logos to water bottles. The process involves passing ink through a custom mesh screen, with layers created for each colour. Each layer is applied sequentially to complete the design and produce a bold and clear logo.

Screen print is considered one of the most economical methods to apply logos to water bottles. However, a drawback is that only one colour per screen can be used. If a logo requires multiple colours, it will be necessary to use several screens. Nevertheless, this remains one of the most favoured techniques for manufacturing branded water bottles.

Digital printing

For full-colour logos, digital printing is an excellent option. This method involves a digital printer applying a logo to water bottles using the 4-Colour Process, or 4CP, which consists of four colours: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK). This process is comparable to the printing method used by most inkjet printers.

If you intend to create your logo digitally, Newwaterbottle.com limits digital prints to eight colours, but we believe you will appreciate the adaptability of digital printing.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving is a remarkable method for creating an elegant logo on metal or bamboo water bottles. However, its application is limited to these specific materials. The colour of the engraving is also constrained by the material’s natural colour.

Laser engraving produces a permanent design by removing portions of the top layer of the water bottle and shaping the logo. Due to the nature of the process, a laser-engraved water bottle is highly durable.

Sublimation Printing

Sublimation refers to the process of changing the form of a substance while retaining its essence. The ink is heated to a gaseous state, permeating the object before cooling down to create a permanent design.

This is achieved using special ink from dye-sublimation printers which can be transferred onto another surface with a compatible coating. Firstly, print a design utilizing a sublimation printer that applies special sublimation ink on specialized transfer paper. Once completed, apply high temperatures and pressure to the design, transferring the ink permanently onto surfaces equipped with a coating capable of absorbing it, such as polyester or coated ceramic mugs.

Water Transfer Printing

Hydrographic dipping, commonly known as water transfer printing, is a technique used to transfer intricate patterns onto 3D surfaces. The design seamlessly adheres to the surface through the use of water-soluble film, resulting in a vibrant and durable finish. Hydrographics can be applied to a variety of materials, including plastics, metals, ceramics, and more, making it a versatile customization option. Experience the unique art of hydrodipping today and add a personal touch to your water bottles.

Metal Products

For metal products like stainless steel and aluminum bottles, customization options for logos are versatile, ensuring a range of possibilities. Silk-screen printing is the most cost-effective and recommended choice due to its affordability. If your logo has multiple colors, pad printing can be considered. For printing colorful images, digital printing, water transfer printing, or sublimation printing are suitable alternatives.

Bamboo and Cork Products

Cork and bamboo are the eco-friendly choices for water bottles. For branding on bamboo and cork surfaces, we recommend using laser engraving for your logo. Laser engraving offers several advantages: it eliminates the need for plate-making, saving on plate costs, and is well-suited for small custom batches. However, it’s worth noting that laser engraving has its limitations, including being suitable for single-color logos or patterns and having a relatively higher unit cost compared to silk-screen printing.

Plastic Products

What kind of printing is suitable for PP wheat straw mugs, plastic sports water bottles, and silicone folding cups? The dye sub-printing procedure calls for heat. Approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit, give or take a couple of degrees, of heat. Plastic products cannot be sublimated. Special attention should be paid to the selection of ink for silk screen printing and pad printing.Plastic materials can vary extensively and we have general application inks for plastics as well as specialized ones.

F.A.Q.

Screen printing applies ink to the surface of a material, creating a design that sits on top of the fabric instead of becoming one with it like sublimation. Sublimation departs from conventional printing methods by enabling the creation of intricate designs that are challenging to achieve with basic screen printing methods .Silk screen printing is not suitable for multiple colors as the print can easily shift.
